indianabacklog, did you make your video and upload on you tube? you know about 2 action items posted by core right? you people are the right one who should stand first in the line to show our problems. I really appreciate if make a video along with your family.
I would like to shout this issue from the rooftops since it would appear that nobody appreciates how awful this situation is. IV do not have aging out on their agenda, nobody does, only those affected by it. If the delays get long enough waiting for priority dates the horizon might change for many many more employment based people. Did not make video for youtube, to be honest do not know how to and am not sure I could make the message short and sweet since my emotions run away with me when I start talking about his issue.

My company started the PERM process for me about 2.5 months ago. I contacted Fragomen about 1.5 months after approvals within the company and they said they are working on establishing min requirements for the position. I then contacted them 3 weeks after that day and they said they have established the requirement and will request the DOL for prevailing wage info (this was 2 weeks ago). After which they are going to start the recruitment process. So I'm not sure if the time line is okay or should I be chasing them more frequently? Please advise.

I called USCIS and the representative said that, the normal turn around time for receipts is 15 days. And if we dont recieve the receipt by then, the employer can call and ask for the receipt #.
I think with the receipt number, we should be good to go.

Lets do the best we can. If it does not work, we are no worse than where we already are.
A group of us just went to Lamar Smith's Austin District Office and detailed his liason about the bills, benefits and information about IV. She said she will have them Fedex'd today to their Washington office and keep us informed about congressman's stand.
Great job LSK,
Please follow up with the local office and encourage your local friends/family to call.

Lately the members of IV have come to know that Aman Kapoor, the co-founder of IV has sold his house and spent around $64000/- towards the administrative costs of IV. This too was brought to our attention from a regular member like you and me, without which this would not have come to our knowledge at all.
So some of the members have taken an initiative to reimburse Aman and other core IV team members with the expenses they have incurred so far towards the administrative costs of IV. Note that the time they have spent and the sufferings cannot be compensated. Let us do the least by atleast compensating the money. Please do not donate directly to IV funds.
There is a funding drive in this other thread towards reimbursing the administrative costs of IV.

Could you please pledge an amount ?

If we get this thru do we still need CIR? Also I guess this looks more better with the limit introduced by an amendment (don't rememeber who it was) to limit the numbers doesn't come into play

Dear Member of Congress:
As U.S. employers, education institutions, and trade associations representing the future of American
innovation, we are writing to urge your support for three bills that will make necessary incremental
adjustments to the employment-based (EB) green card system. The measures H.R. 6039, H.R. 5921
and H.R. 5882 enjoy bipartisan support and should be enacted without delay this year.
Americas scientific and technological leadership is at a crossroads. To remain the world leader in
innovation, U.S. employers must have access to much-needed and sought-after highly educated talent
including scientists, researchers, teachers and medical professionals. Foreign-born professionals make
great contributions to the U.S. economy and create good, high-paying jobs for all Americans.
U.S. employers rely on EB green cards to keep foreign-born talent living, working and innovating in
America. Yet, despite the critical importance of these visas, Congress has failed to address the well
documented backlogs in the EB green card system that leave some foreign-born, highly educated
professionals waiting over six to 10 years to receive a permanent resident visa.
The three bills will address many shortcomings in the EB green card system. For example:
H.R. 6039, by exempting highly educated, foreign-born students earning an advanced degree in
science, technology, engineering or mathematics from a U.S. university from the annual EB green
card limit, would help U.S. employers retain these talented individuals in the U.S. workforce. For
example, foreign nationals comprise half of the masters and 70 percent of the Ph.D.s in electrical
engineering from U.S. universities.
H.R. 5921 will help put an end to multi-year wait times by eliminating unduly restrictive per
country limits on EB green cards.
H.R. 5882 will help to reduce visa backlogs by recapturing EB green cards from prior years
that went unused due to government processing delays and making them available immediately to
those who meet the requirements.
Without these incremental reforms, U.S. employers will continue to be crippled in the global competition
for the worlds best talent, as more and more extremely valuable professionals from around the world
take their education and abilities to competitors abroad.
While permanent reforms for the EB green card system will be critical to U.S. employers long-term
ability to hire and retain key worldwide talent, H.R. 6039, H.R. 5921 and H.R. 5882 are common sense,
incremental reforms that should be enacted this year. We again urge your support for these important
measures.
Sincerely,
Wow! My employer is in the list of supporters. I wasn't aware of that! I must get in touch with the corporate HR.

Hello All,
I called again, took me less than 2 minutes. To all the people who have already made these calls, please call again and maybe address yourself as your spouse's name, or friends name. The point here is volume.
To all those who haven't called shame to all of you, please return back to India as your stall actions are bringing a disgrace to our country.
The Senator has not made any stand on this issue yet, it is imperative for all of us to call, please call.
United we stand , United we win

I think somebody should take an initiative and start a new thread called "THE BASHING THREAD" where everybody could go, (occasionally or in some cases very frequently) whenever we feel dejected and let it on whoever is active there. You could also invite your prey into the bashing thread by saying politely "If you are brave meet me in the bashing thread in 5 minutes".
In case somebody starts a new thread (for eg:- something like this very thread about airline induced missery) and if you feel angry at that person for doing so, you could simply post in the thread "Hallo friend please visit the BASHING THREAD for my reply" instead of hurling personal abuses in every thread we could effectively confine our ego created frustrations/anger into one single thread.
Computer gurus could work on it and try to create some special effects also, like if I bash somebody the degree to which that person is hurt should be reflected by color change or some sort of visual reference.

green.tech on the same page, few posts above:
"How is he in the same boat as me? I am on a boat called IV and I don't see him on that boat. "
This was his reponse to someone who is not a donor.
Another response of his was: "If you dont like our way, take your business elsewhere. "
Why should green.tech be not banned?
and then theres sanju, whenever a talk on why people should pay, comes up, he has only one compaison to make:
"Dont you pay to your Cable company to watch Television?"
reddog, are you serious ? go back and re-read your quotes in the context of those threads. Green-tech was talking in terms of being with IV, do not extrapolate to make it donors Vs non-donors to suit your arguments.
and how is Sanju's comment make it you are with us or against ?

I said I am not defending IEEE....so where the question of praising comes?
I've read the document. IEEE is supporting "Immigration Visas" but not H-1B visas(temporary).
Can you shed some light what they meant by "Immigration Visas"?
It would be great if you can give us an example of some one coming on "Immigration Visa" and becoming a permanent resident and subsequently a US citizen.

What an absolutely useless discussion! EB2 and EB3 are based on each employer's attestation of job/work requirements.
Obviously, there is little correlation between book knowledge and real world results. Highly educated lawyers and Top B School MBA's can be found stuck in dead end jobs or suboptimal careers while barely educated street smart folks can be found enjoying productive careers.
So, let us stop this nonsensical analysis about something that adds ZERO value towards the core mission and objectives.
Lets use those 'high skilled' grey cells for something that matters. Stay away from the keyboard if you cannot resist the urge to puke over it with your fingers putting forth filth.
Seriously. Take a break folks!
