For all of you, whose cases are in NBC (National Benefits Center), please update your status here.
I had to undergo finger printing twice last year and this could be a reason for it.
My case information
EB2
PD: Dec 2005
Case transferred to NBC: 06/09/2008
No interview notice yet
Went for FP twice last year
Should we start getting police clearance certificates as our priority dates are current?

Hi i've been reading the forum for a while now and I hope that you guys can help me out. Like most people i have more questions than answers.
I just got my i140 approved (Sept 24,2008 or so).
The LC was file around Apr/Jun '07 so i would assume this is the Priority date correct?
My lawyer tells me that while this is great, we still have to wait for visa numbers to become available to file the 485. Any suggestions on when is this gonna happen?
I know that this is somewhat linked to the visa bulletin ... how should i read it to understand in a few words, when is my time?
Once i've filed i485 how long does USCIS takes to process it?
On the other hand, i'm quite anxious about changing jobs. If I do, do I waste all this time invested in the process? any other way around that?
It seems like no lawyer wants to provide a straight enough answer. I know it's a lot of questions but i really appreciate it.
THANX A LOT!

I have to file a loan application which requires me to state if I am a Lawful Permanent resident alien and I am not sure if I am, can somebody please clarify if I am a Lawful Permanent resident alien or not if I have a pening I-485 application and I am working on EAD?
No, I dont think you are a LPR until your I-485 is approved.

Lest we think that building a wall across the entire southern US border only affects the movement of people, Glenn Hurowitz, Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy, reminds people of the impact the border fence will have on threatened species in the region.

Does anyone know how that is done?
Thanks

On March 19, 2010, the USCIS announced revised filing instructions and addresses for applicants filing an I-131, the Application for Travel Document.
Beginning March 19, 2010 applicants will have to file their applications at the USCIS Vermont Service Center or at one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities.
If you file the I-131 at the wrong location, the USCIS Service Centers will forward it to the USCIS Lockbox facilities for 30 days, until Monday, April 19, 2010. After April 19, 2010, incorrectly filed applications will be returned to the applicant, with a note to send the application to the correct location.
Here is a link to the new filing locations. (http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.5af9bb95919f35e66f614176543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=1d17aca797e63110VgnVCM1000004718190aRCR D&vgnextchannel=fe529c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1 RCRD)

I just spoke with Xiyun Yang from Washington Post and conveyed thanks for covering a detailed article. She expressed that there is attention being drawn by many quarters including political for "Skilled LEGAL Immigrants".
Also we need to emphasize & communicate is the "increased fees" (almost doubled in many cases) for all USCIS services effective end of this month (July 30). Is this the penalty to be legal ?
The rallys and campaigns should emphasize this important detail too. This is huge money and not fair to the amount of service that is being currently provided.

What are your comments guys ?

Hi All,
I just gave my fingerprints today. I got a match warning for almost all my fingers. I dont remember giving all my finger prints to USCIS at any point of time.. At the max, I would have given thumb and index finger when i travelled.. does this mean i am in trouble?
Any input is appreciated!!
THANKS

Effective July 6, 2009, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) issued an interim rule amending the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) regulations with the intention to:
· end confusion by removing certain obsolete references to the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS);
· help the public determine the correct place to file USCIS forms; and
· create a more efficient and streamlined process for any future changes to filing processes.
For more information, please visit: www.uscis.gov (http://www.uscis.gov).

For a moment i thought you were the first case i saw of the multi-year doc referred here
http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=18905
but your start date is before the application date - so i'd suggest you take an infopass and get their advice on how to get this corrected

Though he is undoubtedly the most famous athlete Canada has ever produced, hockey legend Wayne Gretzky is now a naturalized American citizen living in the US. Canada hasn't held that against him and gave him the spectacular honor of lighting the Olympic torch in tonight's Winter Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Vancouver.

It is advisable to file change of status to h4 while in USA, no need to go back to india. After you get your h4 approved then you can go for stamping...

Hello,
I am not sure if this is good place to ask this.
1. I have moved out of US 5 months ago and I am working for my GC sponsoring employer overseas. What happens to my I-485? Is it considered abandoned?
2. While I was working as H1 I contributed to 401K. I want to know if I can leave that money in the US till retirement age and then start widrawing while living overseas. I expect I will not be a US citizen at that point.
Can anyone point me to a competent accountant who can help with question 2?
