Don't waste time by calling National Call service center. They all are dumb !! They don't know anything. They just read the on line status of our case, which 8 year kid can do.
According to the first guy I talked to, one has already been assigned upon the start of processing of the case.
I just called again and the lady was completely clueless about the whole July 2 fiasco. I will try again in another hour and hopefully I won't get the village idiot again.
For anyone interested in calling themselves here is the info: 1-800-375-5283 options 1, 2, 3 (and possibly 6 after that-I can't remember).

Pappu,
I totally agree with what you have said. I think that we need to step up our efforts....if money is going to be a problem then we need to start threads for fund raising with a set target.

desi3933,
I didnt meant to ignore you. I was kind of busy yesterday so I couldnt reply to your message. Thanks a lot for correcting me and interpreting the text properly.
well I guess we are back to sqaure one.
Even though it can be legislative fix can we still have an action item? well... I dont know!
I think it's still fine. The fact that this was brought up by the Secretary in the action directive says that this has got good traction up top. People aren't getting their green cards any sooner with this. I think this plays into a territory which is actually quite non-controversial even if it needs to be taken from a legislative perspective. Also they maybe thinking of something else too. Who knows. They've seen the data; they know that people from India/China EB2/EB3 and EB3 ROW are seeing a long wait in front of them right now.

If bill is passed Senate in 2007 it will pass current form for H1b. There is possiblity for failing of the bill is 75% now. Also even if Cantwell amendment is passed that will give relief only to high tech companies not for Hospitals or Health care. There is no other amendment other than Cantwell for H1b or GC relief in Senate
Only unknown is how House will handle. Now house is confident that Senate will not pass CIR(Infact house members think they can escape from this hot button issue)
But I am almost certain that Most persons who file I485 within next 6 months will get GC within 1 to 5 years whether CIR is passed or not.
right. i think it's within our reach to reduce that wait time from 1-5 years to 1-2 years at most.

Thank you for your recent message to my U.S. Senate office. Each week, several thousand Minnesotans send me their thoughts and suggestions on legislation and important issues facing our nation. This impressive volume is a testament to the Minnesotan traditions of grassroots activism and civic participation that distinguish our state.
In recent months Minnesotans have contacted my office to share their views on the economic recovery bill, health care, education, and numerous other policy issues. I appreciate hearing from each one of you because understanding your views helps me better represent all of my constituents. I closely track the concerns that are expressed in your letters and emails, and will answer them as soon as possible.
My Minnesota staff is also available to handle specific services related to the federal government (such as trouble with passport applications, claims for veterans' benefits, or citizenship matters). If you are ever in Washington, D.C., I invite you to attend my weekly constituent breakfast every Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. ET, when the Senate is in session. You can also ask my staff to arrange a tour of the Capitol. For assistance, please go to my web site Office of Sen. Al Franken (http://franken.senate.gov/) or call my Minnesota office at (651) 221-1016 or Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-5641.
Thanks again for writing and I look forward to continuing our conversation.
Sincerely,

Something seems amiss here ...the Wednesday & Thursday before the original CIR was stalled - Friday June 8th - there was a lot of tech industry lobbying with Senators including drafters of the bill - both ITIC & CompeteAmerica have releases on their website dated 06/08 - the day the bill was stalled- urging the Senate to take up CIR again - the following week there were press reports indicating some industry backed provisions would be included in the bill if & when it comes back or at least they would be bought up to vote. It is hard too believe that the list of amendments to be offered now do not contain even one single such provision. There is definitely something more than meets the eye here. It is difficult to fathom industry just watching from the sidelines & allowing 2 Sanders amendments to be passed

Is english speaking required to qualify for EB2 ? who diminished the country image ? In our company Indians are highly regarded and yes most of us work for desi companies . Dont blame others just becasue your company dont sponsor in EB2.
Are you from different world. Yes it is necessary even to get the H1. Now I understand why the anti-immigrants are targetting us. Do you mean to say the English speaking people diminished this country. Can we replace all these guys with mullas. What are you trying to say..

I got a reject for missing/incorrect fee. Any one out there?
Nope, luckily all our receipts were received today.
Which branch of Fragomen are you working with? Did they tell you the rejection reason.
Rejection from such a big law firm is pathetic....

Can you send multiple applications in the same package.
Coz. my attorney gave me a tracking number and there are almost 4 names in the reference section of the Fedex Online Tracking System.
Same here. There were three other names for my tracking number. I guess that's OK.

I have updated the front post to reflect our meeting information.
Now lets start on the game plan.
We would need some help from our leaders here..... what are the crucial topics that shall be discussed, and who are the people in state that we should target?
I think, calling our senetors and possibly arranging a meeting with them would be on our top of the list. But lets meet and discuss first to decide what points shall be covered, and what shall be avoided....etc...

Thanks for sticking with IV!!!. Its a bit ironic that you decided to contribute to IV only after 485 measure failed, which you were opposing. I agree with your message of unity, but that should hold good at all times, irrespective of whether you agree and do not agree with IV. People holding off contributions, heckling IV, questioning IV rationale when they dont agree with IV is outright selfish and should be avoided at all times.
Couple of days back, I do differed with IV objective to persue only filing of I-485 by Feb 15. Also, one gentleman from this forum asked me to quit IV...
I am of the opinion that "Difference of opinion" to achieve goal is OK but not to loose UNITY...
I did not quit IV but today contributed IV because I beleive IV is fighting for Immigration issues/cause..
Amen...!!

This sounds unfair. Because of the backlogs, you have waited 6 years. Now you got laid off and you lost everything. Would that be the situation if there was no backlog and you were able to get your green card within, say 2 or 4 years?
I think those government agencies should take responsibilities and compensate for your loss.
Anyone thought about that?

They are cheap compare to other airlines and if you travel from JFK,there is direct flight to Mumbai, it will take you there in 13 hours, which is really good....offcourse the Air India staff are not professional, I have no right words to explain about them, in a scale 1 to 10, I will not even rate them as '1'........if you miss connection in Mumbai, then you have to struggle like any thing, nobody will help out...no proper plan at all....they feel that they are kings and can do any thing.....not at all customer friendly, If I am the boss for AI, first I will train them how to treat the customers, if they refused to learn, I will fire them.....yes, just firing is the solution.....
Let me know guys, If there is any website to complaint about the CS, we all should complaint about them, at least they will change little......

From Immigration bill drew fire from both sides (http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/washingtondc/la-na-immig9jun09,1,3157639.story) By Janet Hook and Nicole Gaouette, LA Times Staff Writers, June 9, 2007
Just one anti-immigration group, NumbersUSA, has sent more than 100,000 faxes and made thousands of calls to Congress since Wednesday. The intensity of that anger propelled some of the bill's opponents.
To make it a fair debate and an honest opinion the senate and the congress should take the SSN of all anit immigrant groups and analyse their credit history work record etc...

As we have been learning, majority of the American public (including your neighbors) associate immigration reform with illegal immigration. Now if you ask them politely and ask whether they support immigration for highly skilled/highly educated individuals (already in the US working), you will hear no protests.
So basically, it boils down to awareness. When we have people affected by retrogression, unaware of the issues, how can we expect a lawmaker to know the inner details?
Just contact the lawmaker's office for creating awareness. Pro/anti-immigration is an after-thought.
Correct. No matter what is the party affliation, if you explain the hardships
of Skilled Workers and their issues, people agree that they should get relief..
(unless offcourse if you are talking to KKKs!)
IV I think has done a great job in spreading awareness.
